About Rapier

Rapier (Giovanni Rapisardi) is an Italian author and renowned fencing master, born in Padua on 1971.

​

He holds a degree in Law and Master degree in International Law, and was one of the first HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) researchers to obtain the diploma of Maestro di Scherma storica (Master of Historical Fencing) at the National Academy of Fencing in Naples (1999).

 

He has been President of the Académie d'Armes Internationale (AAI), the international body of the fencing Academies and Masters of the world.

 

In 2025, he starts the project Rapier’s Art, using his skills with cold steel weapons and firearms to create modern artwork.
